Culture and Nature Packages

There are a variety of excursions that can be undertaken whilst visiting Bali.

Adanyana Bali Tours provides packages that combine sightseeing with visits to major theme parks. At any time during these trips, changes can be tailored to suit the client's personal requirements. A meal or refreshment break will be offered, but any such break is subject to the client’s instruction, and each trip price does not include these extras.

Where possible, activity costs have been listed. These should be used as a guide only, as they are subject to change without notice.


:Arts and Crafts
Excursion detail: We drive to Celuk, noted for the production of fine silver and gold jewellery where we visit one of the traditional craftsmen who can manufacture a piece to order from a sample or sketch. On to the neighbouring village of Mas, a woodcarving village and centre for manufacture and export of teak and sandalwood furniture. In Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali, we stop at the Museum of Fine Arts to view some of the artisans' work.

Our return route is through some spectacular rice terracing before stopping at one of the biggest local markets on the island – Sukawati – where bargains abound.
Time permitting we will also stop to enjoy some traditional Balinese dance.

Besakih Temple Festival:
Excursion detail: We travel approximately 2 hours, through the picture-postcard rice terraces of Sideman, to Besakih village. On a festival / ceremony day – at least once per week - the temple is closed to foreigners, but the colour and pageantry on display is particularly unique to the island of Bali.

Our return route takes us through some dense tropical rainforest before stopping for refreshments at the picturesque village of Rendang. Our descent towards the coast offers some of the best panoramas in rural Bali. Time permitting, we will stop at the Goa Lawah sea temple and Lebih beach.

:Bali Nature
Excursion detail: We drive direct to Singapadu, location of the bird and reptile sanctuaries. Here you will see over 250 bird species during a tree-level stroll and afterwards get acquainted with Indonesia’s famous Komodo dragon.
Combined entrance package: US$15 net/person

We travel a short distance to the Padangtegal Monkey Temple in Ubud. On our return journey we stop at Tohpati village to watch the batik weavers at work. Here you will be given the chance to try your own skills at this intricate craft.

Dolphin Sunrise:
Excursion detail: We travel approximately 3½ hours to Lovina beach on the north coast of Bali where, chartered boats carrying 4-6 passengers, head out to sea for the dolphin rendezvous at 6 am. Each voyage lasts approximately 1 hour.
Package price: US$7 net/person.

Our return route takes us through the panoramic lake and mountain district offering stops at the Ulun Danu lake temple and the produce market village of Candikuning.

:Elephant Safari
Excursion detail: We drive direct to Taro village, location of the Elephant Safari park. Here you will get the opportunity to interact, feed and ride Sumatran elephants rescued from deforestation in Northern Indonesia.

Our return route takes us to the village of Tampaksiring where we explore the most impressive ancient monument in Bali – Gunung Kawi. Consisting of ten rock-cut shrines set in 7m-high individual niches, these statues preside over the tranquillity of the steep river valley.

Jimbaran Sunset:
Excursion detail: Our afternoon journey begins with a 30 minute drive to Uluwatu, the most southern extremity of Bali. High upon a cliff face stands one of Bali’s most significant and sacred temples. In the temple grounds we can also watch the traditional Kecak fire dance.
Entrance price: IDR 3000 net/person (temple), IDR 50,000 net/person (dance).

Our return route takes us to the seaside beach resort of Jimbaran Bay. Previously a sleepy fishing village, this area is popular for its beachfront restaurants offering grilled seafood fresh from the fishermen’s nets. Clients can choose to stay for a “happy-hour” sunset cocktail, a leisurely dinner, or return to their hotel.

:Lakes and Mountains
Excursion detail: Our morning journey, directly to Bedugal takes approximately 2 hours. The volcanic lakes and striking mountains create an idyllic backdrop for our visit to the Ulun Danu lake temple and its adjoining botanical gardens.
Entrance price: IDR 10,000 net/person.

We continue our trip, skirting neighbouring Lake Buyan, before climbing to the highest peak overlooking Lake Tamblingan.

Our return route provides an opportunity to shop at the produce market of Candikuning village.

Tanah Lot Sunset:
Excursion detail: Our afternoon journey begins with a 30 minute drive north through the Tabanan district to the small village of Wanasari - home to one of the biggest butterfly parks in southeast Asia.
Entrance price: IDR 50,000 net/person.

We continue into the volcanic foothills, an area heavily cultivated for rice, before heading towards the coast, south of Kerambitan. The seaside panorama provides a spectacular backdrop for vineyards and fruit orchards. Travelling along some narrow roads, flanked by tall bamboo, we arrive at Bali’s most famous Tanah Lot sea temple.
There are many vantage points to view the sunset, but restaurants / bars offering “happy-hour” cocktails prove to be the most popular.

:Traditional Workshops
Excursion detail: Our drive, climbing through the panoramic mountain and lake district of Bedugal, to Munduk village, takes approximately 2½ hours. Here, at a tranquil mountain retreat, the local Subak (traditional co-operative association), offer 1, 2 and 3 hour workshops where you can learn and enjoy the Balinese way of life. Along with the more commonly known crafts, you can gain skills in palm leaf weaving, music instrument making and the Indonesian language. You will also see the schoolchildren learning and practising traditional dance.
Workshop prices: US$10-25 net/person/hour.

We enjoy a leisurely lunch before driving the alternate return route through the coffee and clove plantations of Pupuan.
